UPDATED STORY, May 31st, 2025:
LOGAN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) — Two homes were destroyed and two others were damaged during a fire near Indian Lake on Friday night.
Fire crews responded to 9544 Beechwood Cove on Long Island in Belle Center around 9 p.m. Windy conditions spread the flames to a neighboring home, destroying it, and caused damage to two additional homes. A dog was killed in one of the homes. Only one of the four residences was occupied at the time. The occupant called 911 when the fire started at the neighboring house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

“The State Fire Marshal is doing the investigation, and I'm sure the insurance companies will also come in and do their investigation, to see if they can find anything, they will see if they can find what cost. You know whether electrical, whether it's gas, or they may not find any cause. We've had some where there's accidental unknown, because there wasn't anything left to figure out where it started from,” says Fire Chief Jason Johns, Richland Township/Belle Center Fire Department.
Around 10 fire departments from Logan County and surrounding areas in the response.

LOGAN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) - A developing story out of Logan county Friday night.
Multiple Fire departments were on the scene of a large fire involving at least one home, possibly more, in the vicinity of beechwood cove on the tip of long Island at Indian Lake. Strong winds reportedly feeding the fire. There's no official word on any injuries at this time, or on the number of structures that are involved. We'll have further details on this story as they become available.
