Friday, September 12, 2025
0957 hrs. – Deputies, along with Scott Fire and EMS, Van Wert Fire and EMS, responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on the Van Wert Paulding County Line Road in Union Township. The incident was investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
1104 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Middle Point Road in Washington Township to stand by as peace officers.
1120 hrs. – Deputies assisted with a Funeral Escort from the City of Van Wert to Woodlawn Cemetery in Liberty Township.
1224 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Jackson Street in the Village of Middle Point for a complaint of a juvenile riding an electric scooter in the roadway.
1256 hrs. – Deputies, along with Convoy Fire and EMS, Van Wert EMS, responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Mentzer Road in Tully Township. A 2006 Buick Lacrosse driven by Kiara Anderson of Convoy was eastbound on Mentzer Road. The vehicle entered an area of freshly treated gravel on the roadway and lost control. The vehicle left the south side of the roadway, striking a tree. The driver was unrestrained and ejected from the vehicle. The driver was treated on scene and then flown from a location to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne by Lutheran Air.
1433 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on North Franklin Street in the City of Van Wert to check on an abandoned 911 call.
1759 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location in the City of Delphos to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
1830 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on West Hoffman Street in the Village of Ohio City to retrieve property.
2100 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Middle Point Road in Washington Township for a report of several juveniles in the roadway refusing to move for vehicles.
2121 hrs. – Dispatched Wren EMS to a residence on State Route 49 in the Village of Wren for a subject who was ill.
2245 hrs. – Deputies spoke with a resident from Gamble Road in Ridge Township for a complaint of telecommunications harassment.
2305 hrs. – Deputies responded to a commercial alarm on South Shane Street in the Village of Ohio City.

0835 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on North Washington Street in the City of Van Wert for a report of a loose dog.
1045 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on East Jackson Street in the Village of Wren to stand by as a peace officer while a subject retrieved property.
1135 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Pleasant Township for a report of harassment.
1157 hrs. – Deputies spoke with a resident from Bebb Street in the Village of Venedocia for a complaint of theft.
1241 hrs. – Dispatched Delphos EMS to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Washington Township for a subject having chest pain.
1312 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Westwood Drive in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.
1430 hrs. – Deputies assisted with a Funeral Escort from the City of Van Wert to Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hoaglin Township.
1533 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Glenmore Road in Willshire Township to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.
1535 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on West Ervin Road in the City of Van Wert for a motor vehicle crash on private property; no injuries were reported.
1804 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Ridge Township for a report of a vehicle stopped in the roadway.
2138 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Tully Harrison Road in Harrison Township for a report of an abandoned go-kart in the ditch.
2209 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on U.S. Route 127 in Hoaglin Township to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.
2237 hrs. – Deputies responded to a commercial alarm on South Shane Street in the Village of Ohio City.
2336 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Werner Road in Tully Township for a report of suspicious activity.

0135 hrs. – Deputies served a warrant issued by Van Wert Municipal Court for Theft. Jody A. Taylor, age 43, of Jackson Township, was transported to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.
0301 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Sunrise Court in the City of Van Wert to assist the Van Wert Police.
0345 hrs. – Dispatched Wren EMS to a residence on East Jackson Street in the Village of Wren for a subject with chest pain.
0625 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of West Main Street in the City of Van Wert to assist the Van Wert Police with a report of a structure fire.
0801 hrs. – Dispatched Middle Point EMS to a residence on Mendon Road in Ridge Township for a subject who had fallen.

1602 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Dixon Cavette Road in Union Township for a report of theft from an outbuilding.
1623 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Shawnee Drive in the City of Van Wert for a subject who had fallen.
1805 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Metzer Drive in the Village of Convoy for a report of juveniles being unruly.
1810 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of State Route 116 in Jennings Township for a report of reckless driving.
1849 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Tully Township for a report of two stray dogs.
2011 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on State Route 116 in Jennings Township for a report of domestic violence. Stephen R. Holder, age 33, of Jennings Township, was transported to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility, charged with First Degree Misdemeanor Domestic Violence.
2225 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on North Main Street in the Village of Middle Point for a complaint of vandalism.
2356 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on West Tully Street in the Village of Convoy for a subject who fell down some stairs.
