ST. MARYS, Ohio (WLIO) - An arrest has been made in connection with the death of St. Marys man.

The St. Marys Police Department says that 50-year-old Charles Stockton has been arrested on the charges of murder and felonious assault. The arrest was made after an investigation into the death of Christopher Slone, who was found unresponsive in his St. Marys home back on April 26th of this year. Police at the scene found the circumstances around his death suspicious.

Stockton is currently in the Auglaize County Correctional Facility. The investigation is ongoing and no more additional information will be released at this time.

The St. Marys Police Department announces that an arrest has been made in connection with an ongoing investigation involving the death of Christopher A. Slone.

On May 26, 2026, officers took Charles A. Stockton (DOB: 1-25-1976) of Lima, Ohio into custody on the charges of Murder and Felonious Assault. The arrest was made following an investigation conducted by our office after the death of Christopher A. Slone on April 26, 2026. Charles A. Stockton was arrested and subsequently transported to the Auglaize County Correctional Center for incarceration.

Currently, the investigation remains active and no additional information will be released to protect the integrity of the case.
