(WLIO) — A Lincolnview alumnus will not be traveling to Italy to compete in the Olympics next month.
USA Bobsled released the names of its eight-member bobsled team Monday, and Ryan Rager was not included on the roster. Rager was a standout track athlete at Lincolnview and later competed on the track and field team at Cedarville University.
After college, Rager worked as a strength and conditioning coach before attending a bobsled combine in May 2025, launching his pursuit of an Olympic career.
Rager’s father, John, tells Your News Now his son will return home to spend time with family before relocating to Lake Placid, New York, where he will continue training in hopes of achieving his Olympic dream.
Although he did not make the final roster, Rager remains a member of Team USA and plans to cheer on his teammates as they compete in Italy. The Olympic Games begin Feb. 6.
