VAN WERT, Ohio (WLIO) — A Michigan man pleaded guilty to child pornography charges while serving jail time for a fatal crash in Van Wert County last year.
Timothy Kiester, 61, pleaded guilty to two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor and one count of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material. The other 12 charges he was facing were dropped as part of the guilty plea.
According to the indictment, the material was discovered after the fatal crash on Oct. 21, which killed Zachary Wood and Logan Elder, both from Van Wert County. Wood's car was stopped to turn, and Kiester who was driving pickup pulling a camper, ran into the back of Woods car, pushing it into the path of a semi coming the other way.
Kiester is currently serving a 90-day jail sentence for that incident. He will be sentenced on the newer charges on May 21.
