VAN WERT, OH (WLIO) - The pool of talent has been narrowed, and more than a dozen artists are ready to take the stage.

"Ohio Has Talent" is back, featuring 15 performers who will take the spotlight to raise money for those facing their final stage of life. The show, which includes singers, musicians, and a jump rope team of Van Wert students, gives each audience member a vote to choose the winner. Proceeds from the event will benefit the CHP Home Care and Hospice program, which is celebrating 50 years of serving people in northwest Ohio.

Event coordinator Kim Mason explained where the money will go.

“The money goes to our Patient Care Fund, which helps meet needs that may not be covered by insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid,” Mason said. “Our goal as a nonprofit is to not say no to you because of your means. We’re going to figure out a way to get you those services. Often, the need is immediate, and insurance can take a long time for authorization. We’re not going to wait on insurance. If the need is there, we’re going to come in and take care of you.”

Seats are still available for $15 to $25, depending on the location. Tickets can be purchased online at vanwertlive.com.

The show will take place on Saturday, March 1, at 7 p.m. at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert.
