J.D. Vance made a stop in Putnam County Tuesday evening, to be the keynote speaker for this year's Putnam County Lincoln Reagan Day Dinner. Polls show Vance is running neck and neck with, if not slightly ahead, of Tim Ryan in the race. The winner will replace Republican Rob Portman, who decided not to seek re-election this fall. Vance says the policies of the Biden administration are responsible for many of the problems facing Americans right now, like inflation and energy costs.

"A lot of problems we have are totally self-inflicted, like we have great energy resources here in our country. We don't have to spend sky-high amounts of money to be able to afford to heat our homes to provide electricity to our homes. We don't have to have food prices going through the roof, this is caused by policy decisions made by Joe Biden, made by Tim Ryan, made by people in Washington D.C., so I think the message is really simple. If you want to be able to put food on the table, if you want food prices to come down, if you want to stop the flow of drugs coming across southern border, we just need to go in a different policy direction and I think people in Ohio are ready to do that," expressed J.D. Vance, Republican U.S. Senate candidate.

Vance said during his career as a congressman, his opponent Tim Ryan was "on the wrong side of the issues" and says Ryan's track record has shown unwavering support for the policies of President Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
