Wapakoneta Council held a public hearing this evening discussing re-establishing a zoning classification at 7 N. Water Street. The owner of the commercial property on Water Street says in order to keep his business, he has to re-apply every year to the planning committee because the property is considered residential. The mayor of Wapak says the property has been strictly used by businesses only and re-zoning would make it easier for current and future business owners. Council will have a third reading on the matter next meeting and will then make a decision.
