WAPAKONETA, OH (WLIO) -Â Around 400 people gathered in Wapakoneta to try the best beers and wines Ohio has to offer.Â
Over 20 craft beer and wine makers from around the state brought more than 60 different drinks for people to try at the 4th annual Craft Beer and Wine Festival on Saturday. The evening also featured live music, food trucks, and a mobile cigar lounge. The event is all about showing off what Ohio businesses are capable of, including several from the local area. It's also a great way to bring tourists to Auglaize County.Â
"They're always surprised by how many breweries are in Ohio. As this event has continued to grow, we even learn of more and more breweries that are still growing and even new ones opening. And we love to feature them and help them be strong," said Jackie Martell, the executive director of the Wapakoneta Area Chamber of Commerce.

"It's good; I mean, people really enjoy coming. We get a lot of people coming back. I saw a shirt from two years ago that is here tonight because he was just proud of the fact that he was here a couple years ago and he's still going to wear that shirt. So, he's obviously glad to be back," added Ed Doenges, the Craft Beer and Wine Festival's coordinator.Â
The festival also offered tickets for designated drivers at a discount.Â
