WAPAKONETA, OH (WLIO) - Just in time for summer fun, the Wapakoneta Waterpark is taking people to the ocean without ever leaving Auglaize County.
The waterpark will officially open on Sunday and will have hours seven days a week all summer long.
Officials there say they're looking to provide a safe and clean environment for their guests as they cool off with all the fun water activities. They say you'll see some new fun features to add to the experience.
"We have added what we are calling Ocean Life at the Waterpark, and basically it's a vision to bring what we all love dearly, the ocean, to the Wapakoneta area in our waterpark. It's been a lot of work, but it has turned out really well," says Jack Hayzlett, Manager, Wapakoneta Waterpark.
The price to enter the waterpark has been reduced this year. Adults 18 and over are $5, and kids 2 to 17 are $2 until 4 p.m. After 4 p.m., admission is $2 for everybody.
The water park is open daily from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m for the general public. There are family swim times for adults with children from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day of the week except for Tuesdays and Thursdays, when it's adults only. The Wapakoneta Waterpark is located at 106 Hamilton Road, Wapakoneta, OH 45895.
