It has been a staple for avid readers in the region for years and is in jeopardy of not happening this year. The American Association of University Women (AAUW) has been looking high and low for a location for this year's book sale with no luck. The former Elder-Beerman building, where they have been for the past several years, is not an option. They are now looking for a large open space of 10,000 to 15,000 square feet to house the sale, which would be available from June through mid-September.

Today was a great day for area bookworms as the 2022 AAUW Book Fair kicked off in Lima! At 4 PM Tuesday Afternoon, volunteers officially opened the doors to the public, and patrons were off to the races to find their next perfect read by the fireplace for the upcoming fall season.

The American Association of University Women has started collecting books for their upcoming fair. All proceeds from the event will go towards scholarships for young women in Allen County. Organizers say that the fair is important in order to assist young minds who are entering college as well as those who are currently in college.
