LIMA, OH (WLIO) - We all have some books sitting around the house that may be collecting dust. Why not donate them to help further someone's college education?
They will be taking donations through next Thursday.
The American Association of University Women, known as the AAUW, is still collecting for its annual book sale. The money raised goes to scholarships for area young women. They are in a new location at the old Mattress Mart Plaza across from Fazoli's on Elida Road. The sale will be held at two different sites, which are the "bookends" of the plaza. They will be taking donations through next Thursday.

With the location change, they are asking people to be patient as they drop off books and when they come to shop for the sale.
"We have two ends of the building, the east building and a west building. The west building also has a big garage, and that's where the drop-offs are. And it's going to house the books that are 50 cents and also cookbooks and music. And this building has new releases, trade books, children's books, puzzles and games, and silent auction," explained Judy Bucher, an AAUW member.
You can drop books off Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m. The sale is Tuesday, September 3, 2024, through Saturday, September 7, 2024, and there is plenty of parking on the east side and back of the building.
