Twenty-five years ago, the club launched its "non-traditional" scholarship program, aimed at helping adults who faced significant challenges return to post-secondary education. Today, the program topped $1 million awarded in scholarships.

The team was honored during Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith’s media briefing, recognizing their hard work and dedication. The Sharks have competed in the state tournament multiple times, bringing home bronze, silver, and gold medals over the years. While they enjoy winning, the players say the camaraderie of being a team is just as important.
