A Lima Fire Department ambulance was involved in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Robb Avenue and West Street. Nobody was injured in the accident that happened around 11 a.m. Monday. The Lima Police Department and the Lima Fire Department responded to the scene of the crash involving the ambulance and a pickup truck. The ambulance will have to be fixed before returning to service.

July 9, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol: Lake Township – The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred at the intersection of State Route 795 and Cummings Road in Wood County, Lake Township, at approximately 5:22 P.M. on July 9, 2024. Ervin Kosch, age 50, of Walbridge, Ohio was traveling east on State Route 795 in a 2010 Toyota Corolla. Analita Clark, age 24, of Toledo, Ohio, was traveling west on State Route 795 in a 2010 Ford Fusion. Mr. Kosh conducted a left-hand turn from State Route 795, attempting to travel north onto Cummings Road. Mr. Kosch failed to yield for oncoming traffic and struck Miss Clark’s vehicle.

June 25, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol: The Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash involving a one-year-old male juvenile pedestrian. The crash occurred on June 25, just after 7:00 p.m., in the 2700 block of Dale Avenue near Olds Avenue in Springfield Township, Clark County. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2016 Dodge Dart, operated by Alexiya A. Payne, 21, Springfield, made a left turn out of a private drive to travel west onto Dale Avenue. While completing the turn, the Dodge struck a one-year-old male juvenile pedestrian attempting to cross Dale Avenue. At the time of the crash, the one-year-old male juvenile was in the roadway, traveling from south to north across Dale Avenue.

Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports that his office is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred this morning, August 15th, 2022. Mercer County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call at 5:30 AM of a traffic crash on Us Rte 127, just south of St Rte 119 in Granville Township.

Both are asking for a budget that is over $700,000 more than the previous year. The police department is looking to increase the number of officers budgeted by 5, which will take up part of that increase, as well as the higher salaries per contractual obligations. Fire and EMS are adding 2 ambulances following a record high year for calls to them and looking to add 3 additional first responders as well as the increase in pay per contractual obligations.

Just before 11 A.M., the Lima Police Department responded to a crash at the intersection of W. Market St. and N. West St. An ambulance operated by Anna Rescue was traveling westbound on Market St. with their lights and sirens on when it struck a semi-truck traveling southbound on West St. According to the police, the driver of the semi had a green light, and couldn’t see around the buildings at the intersection to yield to the ambulance.

The crash happened at the intersection of State Route 116 and Middle Point Road, just after 3:30. The Van Wert post of the State Patrol says 43-year-old John Bill Jr. of Van Wert was westbound on Middle Point Road when he failed to yield and was struck a Ford F-150 being driven by 62-year-old Edwin Eickhold of Venedocia. With John Bill Jr. then striking a vehicle stopped at the intersection, operated by 55-year-old Stacy Strick of Van Wert.

Three paramedics are now in the hospital after a Hanco Ambulance crashed into a vacant building Monday afternoon in Findlay. According to Findlay Police Department, the accident occurred around 12:20 p.m. when a box truck turning from North Main Street to East Foulke Street struck a Hanco Ambulance unit on North Main Street. The impact of the hit caused the ambulance to strike a utility pole and crash into the former QQ Garden Building on North Main Street.
