July 9, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol: Lake Township – The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred at the intersection of State Route 795 and Cummings Road in Wood County, Lake Township, at approximately 5:22 P.M. on July 9, 2024.
Ervin Kosch, age 50, of Walbridge, Ohio was traveling east on State Route 795 in a 2010 Toyota Corolla. Analita Clark, age 24, of Toledo, Ohio, was traveling west on State Route 795 in a 2010 Ford Fusion. Mr. Kosh conducted a left-hand turn from State Route 795, attempting to travel north onto Cummings Road. Mr. Kosch failed to yield for oncoming traffic and struck Miss Clark’s vehicle.
Miss Clark was transported from scene by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Two juveniles, of Toledo, Ohio were passengers in the rear seats of the Ford. One juvenile was transported from scene by Lake Township Police Department to Bay Park Community Hospital. They were then transported from Bay Park by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent where they are being treated for a serious injury. The other juvenile was transported from scene to Bay Park by Lake Township EMS. They were then transported from Bay Park by Lake Township EMS to Mercy St. Vincent with no injuries.
Mr. Kosch was transported from scene to Bay Park by Lake Township EMS for non-life threatening injuries.
All occupants were believed to be wearing their safety belts. Impairment was not a factor in this crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Lake Township Police Department, Perrysburg Township Police Department, Lake Township Fire and EMS, Life Flight, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Update: A GoFundMe assisting the family has provided an update that one of the boys injured in the crash succumbed to his injuries.
