A long-time Lima business is getting a makeover. The outside may look the same, but in few more weeks, Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken on Bellefontaine Avenue will have a whole new look inside. Renovations are underway to give the inside of the restaurant an updated look, but including some classic elements, like replica menus of when they first opened. When the project is complete, Lee's feel this is a great way to thank their loyal customers.

As part of an ongoing project in Lima, Bellefontaine Avenue will be closed starting on Monday, December 2nd to begin construction on a roundabout. That means that people will have to use detours if they plan on driving around that part of town. Drivers will be directed onto a temporary side road that will take them to the new Elm Street underpass, where they can then get back onto Bellefontaine Avenue. Signage has already been installed to help direct drivers through the area. Side roads will remain open so that businesses on Bellefontaine and Elm street can be accessed while work is underway. This is the third phase of the project, with construction expected to begin not long after the road is closed.

There's light at the end of the tunnel as the Bellefontaine Avenue rail crossing should be back up open on Monday evening. Crews will be working through the weekend to get the track in place to make the switch over from the shoe-fly rail to permanent track. Concrete pads have been poured at the crossing and crews are continuing to remove and install rail on the Indiana & Ohio line. The goal is to pave on Monday and open the intersection that evening. Until then, motorists are asked to find a different route to get across town.
