People across the area found resources to help improve their mind, body and spirit at the 11th annual Bridging the Gap Health and Wellness Expo.
Held at Lima Senior High School, the expo will feature health screenings, informational exhibits, and demonstrations aimed at promoting health equity for the mind, body, and soul.
Bridging the Gap has been going on for ten years with the same mission to help improve the underserved members of the community.
The annual Bridging the Gap Health and Wellness Expo has been able to increase education, resources, and awareness of healthcare among the underserved. This year will focus on the family, highlighting resources available for infants to seniors. There will also be a number of demos, health screenings, door prizes, and more.
Fifty area agencies were on hand to help people have a healthier mind, body, and spirit. This is the 7th year that Bridging the Gap has been held to help people get access to care that may not have. New this year were pharmacists to talk about medication management, car seat checks by the Lima Fire Department, and mental health experts to talk about resources available in the community. There was also medical testing available for people to help manage their own health.
A local expo is bridging the gap between community members and the health resources available to them.
