An Allen County Family is helping make sure that other have a good meal for Christmas.  Angie Sanchez and her family handed out complete ham or turkey dinners to clients of Changing Seasons.   This year they were able to raise enough money to buy meals for 50 different families.   The family has been doing this for a few years and they enjoy giving back this time of year.

In its first 23-days, Changing Seasons food pantry served 81 families consisting of 161 people. To raise money to restock the shelves they will be holding a parking lot sale similar to a garage sale this Friday from 9 am to 6 pm at their new location at 529 South Elizabeth Street. They will also be accepting non-perishable foods items and monetary donations to replenish the pantry.

Crime Victim Services hosted the Umbrella Project in the Changing Seasons creative recovery peer group room. Residents who attended the event were able to paint art on umbrellas that will be displayed at the Lima Mall during the first two weeks of April. Special messages will be present on the umbrellas, showcasing stories of victims as well as positive messages to those who are suffering.

It was a night of holiday cheer for the clients of Changing Seasons. Over 100 clients and members of the community got in the Spirit at the annual Christmas Party. Changing seasons host the party to give people who may not have anywhere to go over Christmas a chance to celebrate a more traditional holiday. Thanks to businesses and community members like Old Barn Out Back those who may be less fortunate can feel the love of the season.

At this time of Thanksgiving, many people are thinking of what they have to be thankful for and what they can give to others. More than 100 clients, family, and friends of Changing Seasons Outreach Center filled the chairs at a Thanksgiving feast with all the fixings including a pool table of desserts. The center is a drop-in day service that can see up to 80 clients a day who are looking for encouragement, socialization, and assistance with daily life issues they are facing. Organizers want to thank those who provided today’s meal and others who help throughout the year.

An outreach program held an open house to remind the people of the community what it has to offer. Changing Seasons is a branch of Coleman Behavorial Services. It welcomed people to their S. West Street location to enjoy some lunch and see what services they offer. A community outreach liaison says it was a day to show appreciation to the partners who have helped Changing Seasons thrive and welcome "new friends" who may want to get involved. The program serves 60 to 80 people a day who may just want to socialize or take a wellness class.

As the temperatures in Allen County continue to drop, several churches and organizations are doing all that they can to keep those in need warm. Close to 70 people in need were provided with food, shelter, and clothing on one of the coldest days in January thanks to a partnership between Family Promise , Grace Fellowship Church, St. Luke's Lutheran Church and Changing seasons.
