Karl brings 33 years of manufacturing experience along with 12 years of service on the Fort Jennings School Board of Education and six years on the Vantage Career Center Board of Education. During the last five years of his career at Honda, Karl served on the board of the Workforce Partnership of Shelby County in Sidney, OH., an opportunity that further developed his passion for workforce and career development.

August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month and health officials along with legislators are still working to break the barriers that keep mothers from being able to pump at work. The "Pump act" is currently working its way through congress to increase the accessibility for mothers to continue to breastfeed when heading back to the workforce.

This is the fourth year that the school has hosted a career fair, but this time it was not only for students, it was open to the public too. There were 60 companies available to talk to job seekers. Some of the area's employers need workers, including welding, manufacturing, and health care. Tri Star sees this as a great opportunity for the students, and the companies that they work closely with.

That from the Ohio Department of Education Chancellor Randy Gardner during his tour of the Apollo Career Center. He was in town kicking off “In Demand Jobs Week” which is designed to promote and advocate technical career centers. He had the chance to talk with administrators, students, and employers who have benefited from Apollo graduates.

There are 2,100 jobs available within ten miles of Lima Allen County and it’s a job seekers market. With the number of open positions now is the time to take that leap into a new career. OMJ officials say employers are making measures to make that change worthwhile.
