David Coleman is an award-winning speaker in leadership excellence and resiliency. Coleman gave the students advice on how they can get ahead academically, by improving their study habits. But that is only part of it, he also says a student's success can also be tied to finding those mentors to help them on their education journey. But for the faculty, he stressed the importance of creating a mutual respect with the students.

Friday, Brienne the yellow lab and Violet Mae the Bichon Frisé from the certified therapy dog program "Buckeye Paws" visited OSU Lima to bring some unconditional love. The Buckeye Paws program was developed prior to covid-19 to promote mental and emotional well-being for health care providers at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and began one week before COVID-related restrictions began in March 2020.

Students on campus learned more about how being involved in research projects can help them in their academic careers, as well as in their life post-graduation. Professors shared ways that they can use these research opportunities to better their area of study, while also getting to know faculty and staff on a personal level.

Tuesday, Dr. Melissa Baumann made her first public appearance at ONU as Lt. Governor Jon Husted accepted the Inaugural Champion of Broadband Award at The Inn Hotel on campus. Baumann will be the 12th president at ONU and will also be the first woman to hold the position. Baumann is from Mansfield, Ohio and received her PhD and Masters of Science Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Case Western, and a Bachelors Degree from Michigan Tech University. Doctor Baumann arrives to Ada ready to lead Ohio Northern toward a bright future.

The walk meant even more to some as they invited a loved one that has battled and survived the deadly disease to walk alongside them. Junior Lauren Cunningham was the driving force in bringing the program to Apollo as she herself has beaten cancer when she was diagnosed at 9 years of age.
