LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima City Schools continue to make sure their wellness policy is meeting the needs of both the students and the faculty.
The school's wellness team meeting to review the policy that not only includes school nutrition but physical education, physical activity, along with employee and student health. The policy also includes services to promote social, mental, and emotional health.
"Anything that we can do to encourage wellness within the school department, we are really encouraging that. Each school kind of does their own walks, they have at the Spartan Stadium we have the Relay for Life at the end of school. So each building has their own opportunity to provide wellness for their own school building," explained Carrie Woodruff, Lima City Schools food services director.
The district is required to hold the meeting for the Ohio Department of Education administrative review.
