The event, now in its third year, allows students to rotate through different stations focused on physical activity, emotional well-being, and mental health awareness.
Dozens of students are taking time to see how they can expand upon their career aspirations and get involved in the community. Ohio State Lima and Rhodes State College are teaming up for "Coffee and Careers" as a new way to approach students about their future. As a "mini intern fair," students got a chance to talk with a few businesses about how their majors could tie in with their internships. Some were also looking for ways to become involved in the community.
If you've got county fair fever, there's one more left in our area to enjoy before the season is over. The Hardin County Fair kicked off on Tuesday and is underway in Kenton. It's got everything you could expect out of a county fair—rides and games for the kids, one-of-a-kind food to enjoy, and of course the Junior Fair competition with 4-H students showing off their livestock. The Hardin County Fair has something for everyone, and they are proud to partner with the county board of developmental disabilities to offer a mobile sensory space and mobile adaptive restroom and changing station.
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A staple at the Allen County Fair was back this evening.
It was Senior Day at the fair, and hundreds of people came out to take part. If you were 60 years of age or older, you got in free until 6 pm this evening. Many enjoyed the fair food visiting on the midway. There were two golden age parties for those in attendance, with prizes for the oldest woman and the oldest man, and the couple married the longest.
A celebration of young people in agriculture highlighted the second day of the Auglaize County Fair. Members of 4H drew large crowds today as they showcased their special skills and talents through various competitions at the fairgrounds. The annual Auglaize County Fair celebrated the area's agriculture as participants showed out through impressive showmanship events that included hogs, goats, and horses. Participants from across the county showed off their dedication and hard work as they competed against one another in the arena. Judges evaluated both the animals and their handling skills in many categories, while fairgoers supported and enjoyed the delicious food.
