HARDIN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - If you've got county fair fever, there's one more left in our area to enjoy before the season is over.
The Hardin County Fair has got everything you could expect out of a county fair.
The Hardin County Fair kicked off on Tuesday and is underway in Kenton. It's got everything you could expect out of a county fair—rides and games for the kids, one-of-a-kind food to enjoy, and of course the Junior Fair competition with 4-H students showing off their livestock.
The Hardin County Fair has something for everyone, and they are proud to partner with the Hardin County Board of Developmental Disabilities to offer a mobile sensory space and mobile adaptive restroom and changing station.
The 101 Smokehouse restaurant in Kenton suffered from a fire back in July, but they love calling the Hardin County Fair home for the week in their Smokehouse on Wheels.
Fair officials say each night there is something worth seeing for the main events in the grandstands.
"So our main attractions are, of course, in the grandstands. We've got harness racing tonight. That's free with your admission. Harness racing again tomorrow night, also free with admission. Friday night we have our truck and tractor pull, and then Saturday night we're really excited to have Rodney Atkins, and Bucky Covington is actually opening for him. So that concert's at 7 o'clock, and we're really looking forward to that. And then we close every year with our demolition derby on Sunday," said Kolt Buchenroth, marketing and communications director at the Hardin County Fair.
The 101 Smokehouse restaurant in Kenton suffered from a fire back in July, but they love calling the Hardin County Fair home for the week in their Smokehouse on Wheels.
"Every year we're excited to host 101 Smokehouse on Wheels, which is their food truck, and this year's no different. I put our Facebook page the other day; the Hardin County Fair is 101 Smokehouse Strong. That's something they've started, and so we're really excited. They actually put on that they sold out at eight o'clock yesterday, so the community is really rallying behind 101 Smokehouse, and we're happy to have them and excited that they could still come and we could kind of wrap our arms around them as a community," added Buchenroth.
