Wapakoneta celebrated the 19th year of its Children’s Hometown Holiday with a free, volunteer-powered three-day event that included activities, treats and gifts for local kids.

Fans of Food Network’s Halloween Wars may recognize Social House owner Shannon Gerasimchik, who competed on season seven as the pumpkin carving artist for Team “Morbid Masterminds.” Gerasimchik has gathered a group of professional carvers to showcase their skills turning the giant gourds into works of art.
Betsy Billingsley, executive director of Visit Greater Lima, said, “Overwhelming. We were really surprised by our second one. We had over 30 entrances, which we, you know, you think, oh, maybe a couple here and there, but people are really catching on. And we just love those pictures that you take with your grandkids or the family, or, you know, a great day that you've had here in town.”
