FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) - Although it is cold and dreary out, the University of Findlay hosted what they call a "Funday Sunday" for kids to have fun at.

Located at the Mazza Museum on Findlay’s campus, Funday Sunday is a 6 time a year event for kids of all ages to learn about different topics. February's theme was titled, "Jungle Expedition" with stations to make crafts, free swag, and games.

Funday Sunday event turns Mazza Museum into a jungle adventure for kids

The first 100 people to enter the event were gifted with free tickets from the Toledo Zoo. Thanks to a sponsorship by the Findlay Hancock County Community Foundation, each child who attended received a free book as well. From each kid getting their favorite animal ears, to learning how animals behave, this event gave kids a sense of tropical fun in the jungle during this bitter cold.

"Each station is paired with a book, like Jumanji, and the kids might go to it, for example, and they'll learn, in this case, how to pick up, maybe seeds using different tools and that will teach them how birds with different beak sizes might mimic it or they could build a volcano. They can try on virtual reality glasses and experience a jungle roller coaster. There's about 20-30 of those stations each time we do a Funday Sunday," says Dan Chudzinski, Director of Mazza Museum, University of Findlay.

With many stations to explore, each child learned something new about jungle animals. Missed out on Funday Sunday this month? Stop by March 11th for the next. The theme next month is all about superheroes entitled, "Comics Unleashed". For more information, check out the Mazza Museum's website.
