The West Ohio Food Bank is seeking additional volunteers during the summer months as participation typically declines due to vacations and school breaks. Officials say volunteers can serve for as little as an hour and will be matched with opportunities that fit their schedules and interests.
The West Ohio Food Bank's annual Resource Fair drew nearly 1,000 people to the Allen County Fairgrounds to connect residents with valuable community services and support programs.

A Spencerville fifth grader is making a big impact on his community.
“We provide temporary emergency financial assistance to our county veterans. We will assist with rent, house payments, food, utilities and other items such as gas cards, work boots, things like that. So if a veteran is in need or they're having a hard time we don't want to see them without. We want them to come to our office now before it gets out of hand so we can help them,” said Tamara Wilson, executive director of the Allen County Veterans Service Commission.
