November 7, 2024, Press Release from the Office of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine: (COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Governor Mike DeWine today welcomed 20 Ohioans as the newest members of the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame. These individuals were honored during an induction ceremony Thursday in recognition of their outstanding post-military accomplishments. “As Governor, I am proud to welcome the Class of 2024 to the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame,” said Governor DeWine. “The 20 exceptional Ohio veterans we are celebrating today deserve our gratitude, not only for their service to our country in the Armed Forces, but for their enduring service to our communities and our state in their post-military lives. These individuals have dedicated their lives to helping others and are an inspiration to all of us every day.”

Some very important students made their way back to the halls of the Lima City Schools on Thursday. The 13th class of Lima City School Hall of Fame inductees were treated to a lunch at Spartan Inn and then made a visit to a classroom to talk with students. The induction is being held Thursday evening, and they will also be honored during halftime at Friday night's football game. These former students gave current students some advice, and one inductee's family shared stories about his life.

They have dedicated their lives to a career they love by building the agriculture industry in Allen County. Randy Jones, Gary and Laura Luginbill, Joe Schmersal, and the late Todd Schaub are being inducted into the 2024 Allen County Agriculture Hall of Fame. Sponsored by Nutrien and the Lima Allen County Chamber, the honor recognizes them for the instrumental roles they played in the success of agriculture in the county.
