Allen County commissioners entering into an enterprise zone agreement with Beer Barrel Incorporated. It approves a 10-year, 50-percent tax abatement for the land and building. The new construction will be 11,000 square feet, located at 2755 Harding Highway near the Allen County Fairgrounds. The project is a $3 and a half million dollar investment in the community, creating 25 new full time positions and 55 part-time.
Just after 5 o’clock, first responders were called near the intersection of Harding Highway and Thayer Road for a three-car crash. A gray Ford C-Max was traveling Eastbound on Harding Highway when it went left of center, striking a black Ford Fusion going West. A Honda CR-V following Westbound was then struck by the collision.
A crash near Harrod this evening lands one man in handcuffs. Around 8:30 p.m. Monday, first responders were called to a crash on Harding Highway. On arrival, they discovered a car had veered off the road and hit a mailbox, before resting in front of a telephone pole. No one was transported but a man was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle while impaired. The crash remains under investigation.
A two-car crash in eastern Allen County sends two people to the hospital. The accident happened just before noon at the intersection of Harding Highway and Napoleon Road. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says an SUV driven by 20-year-old Kyle Williams of Lima traveling south on Napoleon failed to yield and drove into the path of a minivan driven by 65-year-old Robert Boyle of Kenton traveling east on Harding Highway. Boyle and his passenger were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Everyone was wearing seatbelts which minimized the injuries.
A call came in about 8:30 Monday morning that there was a suspicious package at Bob Evans on Harding Highway. The Allen County Bomb Squad and Emergency Management Agency were able to survey the package found under a bench on the East side of the building. Traffic on Harding Highway between Interstate-75 and State Route 117 was shut down for close to an hour and a half during the situation.
A fender bender accident with an Allen East school bus sends four kids to the hospital to be checked out this morning. The accident happened around 8 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Harding Highway and Napoleon Road.
