Estee Hemphill is a Bluffton alum who now works for the Cleveland Guardians. She spoke to students and other members of the Bluffton community on the importance of feedback for both new and experienced professionals. She emphasized not only the importance of seeking criticism to improve yourself but also the benefits of confidently voicing your opinions in decision-making as a new employee. Hemphill hopes her perspective motivates students when they enter the job market.

Whaley listened as attendees told her about the impact unions have had on their lives and their concerns about the current job market. Berlin Carroll speaking about the role the association plays in making sure courts throughout Ohio ensure independent judiciary through professional development and high-quality education. Ohio is one of a few states that offers an in-state judicial college through the Ohio Supreme Court for court managers. Areas covered are leadership, court performance, accountability, and budgeting. Carroll says it's important that people understand the importance of an independent judiciary.
The Area Agency on Aging 3 will be hosting a Falls Prevention Awareness Day on Thursday, September 22nd from 9 am-12 pm at 2423 Allentown Road, Lima. Several community partners will be in attendance to educate, increase awareness, and help provide resources on falls and fall prevention for our older adults.
The assisted living facility provided local families with the opportunity to pick up school supplies as well as have a bite to eat with food trucks available at the event. Organizers wanted to give back to the community and help provide some overall relief to families who are in need.

This flagpole was previously at the U.S. Navy/Marine Corps Reserve Center on the south bank of Schoonover Lake. In 2017, it was donated to the Veteran's Food Pantry of Northwest Ohio where it has found a home. Those gathered say having this ceremony on Flag Day is appropriate for what the pole means in the history of Lima.
