LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The NAACP of Lima is reminding residents of the importance of voting not only in this election but for those many to come.

The chapter welcomed NAACP Ohio State Conference President and former state senator Tom Roberts to discuss the importance of voting. Roberts talked about how a single vote can send an important message to those who are running, and in the end, the people's voice can make a difference both at the state level and nationwide.

"If Ohio sends the right person to the U.S. Senate, then we can make a difference, not just in Ohio but nationwide. That will change the makeup of the U.S. Senate so we're encouraging people to study the issues, study the candidates, and vote your conscience," said Tom Roberts, NAACP Ohio State Conference president.
The NAACP says you can call 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683) if you have any problems with voting in your election to be connected with a team of Ohio lawyers.
