An Elida man has been sentenced to prison time in the death of his 2-year-old daughter.
A Perry Township man was sentenced to 14 years in prison for killing his brother in 2024.
Jacob Striff, 24,  pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter for the shooting death of  Jeffrey Paxton, 41, in September of 2024. As part of a plea agreement, the murder charge and other related charges were dropped.
Larry Andrus Jr., 50, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in April. As part of the plea agreement, other charges, including murder, were dropped.

Edwards earlier this month entered a plea of guilty to the charges of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated possession of drugs, and endangering children. In February 2020, 2-year-old Ezra Siegrist died at a Montezuma home. The autopsy done by the Montgomery County Coroner's Office says that the boy died as a result of "methamphetamine intoxication" and "blunt force trauma to the head". Edwards was in a relationship with his mother at the time of his death.
An Allen County man charged with selling drugs that killed two women has been found guilty.
30-year-old Michael Pasterchik turned down a plea deal and now his trial on the charges of involuntary manslaughter and corrupting another with drugs will begin at the end of the month. According to the indictment for the September 2020 incident, Pasterchik provided the drugs to a woman that was found unresponsive and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Law enforcement says Tate stole a car from a home in the Bluffton area and drove it east where he was finally arrested in Medina County. Tate is also facing complicity in receiving stolen property, improper handling of firearms in a vehicle, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and receiving stolen property in Hancock County. He will not be brought back to Hancock County to face those charges until his case in Medina is closed.
