VAN WERT, Ohio (WLIO) – A Van Wert man has been sentenced to 6 to 9 years in prison for the 2023 death of Roy Watts.
Larry Andrus Jr., 50, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in April. As part of the plea agreement, other charges, including murder, were dropped. In September 2023, Van Wert police officers were called to OhioHealth to investigate the suspicious death of Watts. An autopsy later determined the death was a homicide.
Andrus allegedly fled the area and was captured in November by the U.S. Marshals Service at a Florida bus station. In addition to his prison sentence, Andrus was also ordered to pay court costs in the case.
