Thanks to your help, we had another successful Truckload of Toys this year. The Lima Salvation Army says that 630 toys and stocking stuffers were collected at the Allentown Road Walmart on Saturday. Besides the toys, we got a lot of cash donations to help purchase toys to help fill the wish lists of over 1,000 local kids this Christmas. We want to thank Kewpee for the coupons for us to pass out and the Marine Corps Reserves, along with the Lima Noon Optimist, for helping collect the toys.

You have around 3 weeks left to help a child have a better Christmas this year with a new toy. The Lima Salvation Army's "Toys for Tots" campaign will be collecting toys until December 14th. There are around 200 boxes out at various businesses in the area for donations of a new unwrapped toy. While they are looking for toys and stocking stuffers for any age of kids, there is one age group that could need some more donations.

Summer is in full swing, but it's not stopping Lima from getting in the holiday spirit. With Christmas under five months away, the Salvation Army is wrapping up its 'Christmas in July' fundraiser that assists those in need. The campaign started back on July 8th and runs through this Saturday at all Chief and Kewpee locations locally. The program relies on the generous help of volunteers and donations from those who lend a hand to those in need.

Shutt began working at Kewpee in 1957 and purchased it from the 'Stub' Wilson estate in 1980, which included the downtown Lima location and Allentown Road, with the eastside location opening in 1981.
