LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - It's that time of year that Wapakoneta plays host to teenagers from their sister city in Germany.

Nearly a dozen students and chaperones from Lengerich making the long trip to Wapakoneta for the annual sister city exchange. The students getting to hit sites like New York City and Cedar Point before arriving at their host families for a taste of Midwest living. The teens also made a stop at Your Hometown Stations to see behind the scenes.

Wapakoneta welcomes teens from their German sister city

"It looks just like the movies, and I love it a lot," said Mirja Stamen. "New York was amazing, and I really love it over here. It's a lot quieter than New York was, but it's so amazing and so beautiful. All the people are nice. I really love it. I would definitely come back."

"They got pins from the mayor, and they stuffed them full of pizza, and then we also went to the police station, and they got the scene around the police station and got to set in the seats on police cruisers," said David Moon with Wapakoneta Sister Cities.

While in Lima the group stopped at Kewpee and headed downtown to Alter Ego Comics.
