The Lima Allen County Neighborhoods in Partnership, along with Mercy Health and Activate Allen County, held an open house at the Spring Street Community Garden. The garden has been around for around 20 years, and the public was able to see the efforts of the people who like to get their hands a little dirty. That includes 10 “Giving Gardens” for people in need just to come by and pick some fresh produce when it is ready.

The Lima Allen County Neighborhoods in Partnership are kicking of 2022 with their annual retreat.  The theme for this year retreat is “Re-imagining Neighborhoods” and they will be focusing on community organizing and neighborhood planning.   During the retreat they heard from speakers who will help them to start projects in their different neighborhood associations, which in turn, will better the city as a whole.   It has been difficult to get anything started the past couple of years because of the pandemic, but Saturday’s retreat will help get participants reenergized to creating the right projects to better their neighborhoods.
