LIMA, OHIO (WLIO) - Lima Allen County Neighborhoods in Partnership are recognizing some people that are doing a lot of good in our area. After taking a couple of years off, the organization brought back their annual awards dinner. Around a dozen people and businesses got awards for the work they do to make the residents of Lima and Allen County better. Chris Jackson from the Bradfield Center got the Shirley Daley Community Leadership Award. There were also people who got the “Good Neighbor” and spirit awards to say thank you for the work that they do.
James says the goal for LACNIP next year is to offer more programs and workshops to educate the residents on different topics, like financial literacy and home ownership.
“There is a lot of people that do stuff, that a lot of people don’t even know that they do, and this is just giving us the opportunity to show them some appreciation and make them feel good for what they do, and let them know what they do has not been unseen. I want people to take away tonight from this dinner; there are still good people in this community. There’s still a lot of people that have a love for the city of Lima and just unity in the community,” says Denise James, Pres. LACNIP.
