The Lima Sister Cities Association is raffling off two vintage quilts made by a renowned Japanese quilter. The quilts, donated to the organization, will help raise funds for projects such as the Youth Ambassador trip and the upcoming Cherry Blossom Festival.
The annual cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 5, ahead of the festival on April 12. Volunteers will spend the morning raking, weeding, and picking up trash to prepare the park for the celebration.

Members of city council, current and past members of the Sister Cities Association, plus delegates from Harima-cho gathering Tuesday evening for a dinner to commemorate a quarter century of cultural exchange and friendship.
They have been exchanging cultural, educational, and business ideas for many years, with this year being a special milestone. It has been 25 years since the City of Lima and Harimo-cho, Japan, signed an agreement to become sister cities. Since 1999, more than 300 people have participated in cultural exchanges. Both adults and students from both cities have had the privilege to experience life in the other sister city community. There will be several special guests at this year's celebration.

This Saturday is the Lima Sister City Association's Cherry Blossom Festival. Located on the corner of West Eureka and South Elizabeth Streets, there is a group of cherry trees. They were donated by middle school students from Lima's sister city of Harima-cho, Japan, and that was the start of the Japanese Garden.
One local woman took her personal story to advocate for world peace, reconciliation, and friendship.
