LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Quilters and fans of Japanese culture have a unique opportunity to own a piece of history while supporting a local cause.
The Lima Sister Cities Association is raffling off two vintage quilts made by a renowned Japanese quilter. The quilts, donated to the organization, will help raise funds for projects such as the Youth Ambassador trip and the upcoming Cherry Blossom Festival.
Organizers say the fundraiser is especially meaningful due to the quilts' significance.

“We have two different ones available, and this is made by a famous artist in Japan who's done quilts for the Olympics and other large events in Japan,” said Matthew Neeley, president of the Lima Sister Cities Association. “So we have a lot of exciting things coming up in the month of April.”
Raffle tickets will be available at the Cherry Blossom Festival on April 12 at the Japanese Garden, located at 202 West Eureka St. Tickets are $10 each, and only a limited number will be sold.
