GOMER, Ohio (WLIO) - Mutual aid was called for a barn fire in Gomer on Satruday.Â
American township was dispatched to 4375 Lincoln Highway for a working barn fire fully engulfed. Delphos, Cairo, and Kalida were called for mutual aid. The fire seemed to follow the metal roofing line along the barn, making it spread quickly. Crews were able to get the fire under control.
"He was burning around the barn. It went up the side of the barn, up into the roof. And, it has a metal roof, and it followed the metal roof line," says Tom Hadding, Fire Chief for American Township.
No injuries to any people, animals, or firefighter personnel. Crews are in extinguishment mode and overhaul. There is yet to be a cause of the fire as the case is under investigation.
