LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A blast from the past returns Wednesday night at the Cable Road Happy Daz in Lima.
The restaurant is again hosting its weekly cruise-in, giving classic car enthusiasts a chance to show off their cool rides.
The get-together happens every Wednesday during the summer months and has brought in as many as 150 cars, from Mustangs and Camaros to trucks and convertibles.
And the money raised during the cruise-in goes to a good cause.
"Throughout the year, we sell fifty-fifty tickets, and at the end of the year we give the money that we collect to two different charities. The charities are determined by the people that come to the cruise-in. We put out a survey at the beginning of the year, they vote on where they want the money to go to, and so then at the end of the year, we split up the money and give it to two charities, and Happy Daz has been gracious enough to match the amount of money that we give,” says Chris Schimpf, Happy Daz Cool Car Cruise In Manager.
The cruise-in raised roughly $7,000 last year for charity, with Happy Daz matching the donation.
The event continues next Wednesday night.
