The trial for a man accused of murder back in March has been pushed back until next year. 31-year-old Gervens Justilien agreed to waive his right to a speedy trial during a hearing on Monday. The new date has been set for January 14th, 2025, to give the defense time to prepare his case with a translator and translation software.

An Allen County grand jury returned an indictment against a man who allegedly raped and killed a woman in March. 31-year-old Gervens Justilien has been indicted on aggravated murder, rape, and strangulation charges for the death of 26-year-old Chrislande Auguste. The Allen County Sheriff's detectives say she was found dead at a home on Makley Drive from strangulation and blunt force trauma. Justilien ran following the crime and was picked up in Rhode Island by the U.S. Marshals.

An Allen County murder suspect will be extradited from Rhode Island at the end of May. Sheriff's officials say 31-year-old Gervens Justilien will return to Allen County on May 30th. He was captured by the Rhode Island United States Marshals Service on March 29th. Justilien has been charged with murder for the death of 26-year-old Christlande Auguste. She was found dead on March 10th at a home on Makley Drive from strangulation and blunt force trauma.
