ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) -Â An Allen County grand jury returned an indictment against a man who allegedly raped and killed a woman in March. 31-year-old Gervens Justilien has been indicted on aggravated murder, rape, and strangulation charges for the death of 26-year-old Chrislande Auguste.
The Allen County Sheriff's detectives say Chrislande Auguste was found dead at a home on Makley Drive from strangulation and blunt force trauma. Justilien ran following the crime and was picked up in Rhode Island by the U.S. Marshals on March 29, 2024.
Both Auguste and Justilien are from Haiti, and sheriff's officials say that Auguste was here on a temporary employment authorization card while she was waiting on an asylum hearing.
He will be arraigned on the new charges next week. He is currently in the Allen County Jail on a $5 million bond.
