The incident happened around 5:15 p.m., the Findlay troopers say that 48-year-old Robert Searfoss of New Bavaria, Ohio, lost control of his Cessna and crashed nose-first into a field just south of the airport. He sustained serious injuries and was life-flighted to Toledo Saint Vincent Medical Center. He was wearing his seat belt. The crash is still under investigation.

A plane crashed in Paulding County right after taking off from a private runway and it's now being investigated. It happened Friday afternoon around 3:30 in Brown Township in rural Oakwood. The sheriff's office says the plane went down in a plowed field on the east side of Road 163, north of 138. The pilot, Dustin Dobbelaere, was the only person inside and he was life-flighted to a Fort Wayne hospital. The severity of his injuries aren't clear. An investigation was launched between several agencies.

Some new information was released in the fatal plane crash in northern Allen County last week. The National Transportation Safety Board has taken over the investigation from the Ohio State Highway Patrol into the crash outside of Gomer last Thursday. They say a preliminary report could be available within 10 days. The NBC station, KWQC in Davenport, Iowa, reported the pilot was Steven Niemann and the passenger was Tracey Hartnett. Both of them are from Bellevue, Iowa, and were flying east for a prospective job when the plane crashed.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says two people are dead following a small plane crash near Gomer in Allen County. Troopers and other first responders were called to a field near the intersection of Sandy Point Road and Tudor Road just before 5 p.m. Thursday afternoon. The plane's two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, but their identities are being withheld pending notification of family.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a plane crash that happened on Friday night. According to the Wapakoneta post of the OSHP, the 1996 Air Tractor plane crashed just before 7:30 Friday evening west of SR 118 and north of Oregon Road in Mercer County.
