All proceeds from the sales go directly back into the community, supporting the organization's outreach and service programs.

“They are actually growing,” said Paul Downing, operations manager of the Lima Salvation Army. “So it's really great that people are coming online and doing that. If you need any help at all, please call the Salvation Army. We can help you and walk you through your application process, but it's pretty much just uploading all the information that is normally required during the season.”

“We just want to let people know that the facility is open and you can start coming in, and those programs all kick back in — mainly your food assistance, your rent, utilities, those things like that, which are greatly needed in the community — those are back out and open, and we’re ready to help out with that,” said Operations Manager Paul Downing.

The Lima Salvation Army is sending out the last call for families who may need help this Christmas season. On Tuesday, October 29th between 9 AM and 12 PM and between 1 PM and 3 PM, there will be one final chance for families to sign up for the Salvation Army's Christmas Assistance. The in-person only sign-up will be at the Lima Salvation Army's facility at 614 East Market Street across from Lima Senior High School. During the holidays, many families experience financial and emotional hardships. From making sure the kids receive toys to ensuring families have hot meals, Operations Coordinator, Paul Downing Jr., wants area families to experience joy this Christmas season.

The last two days of the Lima Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign had to be canceled due to the arctic temperatures and that was a big concern about reaching their $125,000 goal. Thanks to the generosity of others, the kettle campaign collected $128,000 in donations. Salvation Army officials are thankful for all of the support for their mission.
