Judge Jeffrey Reed has ruled that Timothy Youngblood was found guilty of murder and felonious assault. In July of 2018, Youngblood was arrested for killing his father, Van Youngblood. His lawyer was trying to get a not guilty by reason of insanity plea. During the trial, two mental health experts testified about youngblood's mental state on the day of the murder. One said he was aware that he did something wrong, the other expert said he had symptoms of being psychotic and didn't realize what he did was wrong.

After one day, Timothy Youngblood’s trial by judge has wrapped up with the judge deliberating on if Youngblood is guilty or not guilty by reason of insanity.

It was July 9, 2018, Youngblood is accused of killing his father, Van 

Youngblood, with a sword. Van suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest and once to the neck.

Both attorneys agreed to the fact it was Timothy who inflicted harm on his father and that the coroner report states, that harm resulted in his death.

In Allen County Common Pleas Court, 33-year-old Youngblood decided to waive his right to a trial by jury. The verdict will be left to the judge during his trial next month. Earlier this year, Youngblood pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. In July 2018, police say Youngblood was at his parents home and is accused of stabbing his father, Van Youngblood, with a "sword-like" object. Youngblood had been ruled unfit to stand trial.

A man accused of killing his father will have to wait a bit longer for his trial. In Allen County Common Pleas Court, both attorneys expressed there are things to work out in the case of Timothy Youngblood. He was scheduled to have a trial Tuesday, but it has now been pushed back until April. To do that, Youngblood waived his right to a speedy trial Monday. Youngblood was ruled competent to stand trial after treatment but has now tried to plead guilty by reason of insanity. Two mental evaluations are conflicting and that's what attorneys must work out. Police found Youngblood at his parents' home in July 2018. His father was found stabbed with what's described as a "sword-like weapon".

A Lima man accused of murdering his father will need another mental evaluation. Timothy Youngblood had a mental evaluation done to plead guilty by reason of insanity. Him and his attorney would like a second opinion and will have a second evaluation done. In September, Youngblood was just ruled competent to stand trial after nearly a year of treatment. He is facing charges related to the death of his father. Police found Youngblood at his parents home, in July 2018, with his father stabbed with what was described as a "sword-like weapon." He has a trial scheduled for Jan. 7.

A Lima man once deemed incompetent to stand trial for murder, is found to have been restored. Timothy Youngblood was found competent to stand trial today, before a full year of treatment at the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital. He was admitted in October and an evaluation in April reported he was restored. A second independent evaluation in July confirmed the first report. Youngblood will need another evaluation though as the defense planned to plead not guilty by reason of insanity.

A Lima man accused of murdering his father, returned to court today to talk more about his competency.

32-year-old Timothy Youngblood returned to court for the first time since his competency ruling. He was deemed incompetent to stand trial, but 'restoreable.' Today the defense council and state agreed to get a second opinion on Youngblood's ability to be restored to competent. He is alleged to have murdered his father, Van Youngblood, back on July 9. Police described the weapon used as a sword-like weapon. Youngblood previously entered a not guilty plea to two charges of murder and felonious assault.
