Some local kids had a fun-filled educational adventure around Lima on Monday. Elida schools had their students out on an educational field trip as part of their dare program, which included both the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center and juvenile court. In the courtroom, the kids got to participate in a mock trial to learn about the ins and outs of how the justice system works. The students were picked for each role and were assisted by the court staff in the case of the stolen video game. A good way to make education fun.

 Pizza... pizza... and more pizza. With families and friends all gathering and preparing for their Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, the desire to cook the night before slowly dwindles, leading to an increase in pizza orders. Lima's very own Westgate Entertainment Center, known for their pizza, says that the day before Thanksgiving is one of their busiest times of the year.

Would you like to have some fun on Saturday as you raise money to help say thank you to local teachers? The teachers' appreciation banquet will be holding a bowling fundraiser this Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Westgate Entertainment Center. For $30, you can reserve a lane for six people, and the money raised will help put on the banquet, which organizers started to honor the educators that make a difference in their students' lives.

The Lima Police Department and D.A.R.E. teamed up for the annual D.A.R.E. Essay Competition, where young students write an essay on the lessons they learned in D.A.R.E. and how to apply the D.A.R.E. decision-making model when presented with a decision. The students were taken to Westgate Entertainment Center, where they celebrated with pizza, fun games, and bowling for their outstanding work.
