ANNA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Anna Rockets kept their late-season momentum rolling, picking up a decisive 54-15 win over Deer Park in the opening round of the Division VI playoffs.
Anna wasted no time getting on the board as sophomore quarterback Logan Ziegenbusch called his own number and scored from ten yards out to make it 7-0.
Later in the first quarter, with the game tied at seven, the Rockets’ defense turned up the heat. Co-MAC Defensive Player of the Year Nolan Wilt broke through for a big sack, forcing a Deer Park three-and-out.
In the second quarter, Anna led 13-7 when junior TJ Roberts powered the ground game. After a long first-down run, Roberts capped the drive with a three-yard touchdown to extend the Rockets’ lead to 20-7.
Senior Zeb Pleiman added the exclamation point with a 48-yard touchdown run as Anna pulled away for good.
The Rockets improve to 8-3 and advance to face Mechanicsburg in Week 12.
