BATH -Â At Bath Gymnasium, a defensive battle between Bath and Shawnee needed overtime to decide a winner.
Shawnee struck first in a low-scoring opening quarter, with Cadence Wilson knocking down a pull-up jumper to give the Indians an early lead. Bath answered with a basket from Gwyn Foust in the paint, and those two scores accounted for the only made field goals of the first quarter as Bath held a 3-2 lead after one.
Offense began to pick up as the game went on. Sophie Jackson connected from long range for Bath, while Shawnee answered on the fast break with Anna Menke converting from close range. Later, Bath received an inside basket from Marlie Mason as the teams remained locked in a tight contest.
The game went to overtime, where Addy Rex delivered the deciding moment, hitting a runner at the buzzer to lift Bath to a 34-33 win.
