BLUFFTON, Ohio (WLIO) — Fresh off celebrating his 250th career win earlier this week, Bluffton head coach Todd Boblitt had his Pirates back on the floor as they hosted Allen East in Northwest Conference action.

The Mustangs came out firing on the road. Braxston Montgomery knocked down a three-pointer to give Allen East the early edge, setting the tone in the opening minutes.

Montgomery looked to help extend that lead, but Bluffton’s defense answered. Freshman Brody Donley came up with a big block to spark the Pirates.

On the offensive end, Lane Ginther went to work. The junior dribbled, spun, faded away and got the friendly bounce to fall, finishing with 13 points on the night.

Allen East kept it close as Brady Brooks kicked it out to Keagan Jones for a triple. Jones also chipped in 13 points as the Mustangs battled throughout.

But Bluffton’s ball movement proved to be the difference down the stretch. Parker Lovell found Bean Ginther, who then dished to Donley for the bucket. Donley led all scorers with 18 points.

Bluffton secured its first Northwest Conference win of the season with a 52-44 victory over Allen East.
