LEIPSIC, Ohio (WLIO) — Leipsic welcomed Continental for a girls basketball matchup featuring two teams looking to gain momentum late in the season.
Continental trailed 27–20 in the third quarter when senior Olivia Crossgrove provided a spark. She finished an inside feed for a layup, part of an eight-point night for the Pirates.
Moments later, Crossgrove came up with a steal and kicked it ahead to Makenzie Shock. Shock took it coast to coast and converted the off-balance shot to pull Continental within four.
Leipsic responded by heating up on the offensive end. Kya Brandt set up Olivia Tussing for a basket as the Vikings began to create separation.
Brandt then took matters into her own hands, using a screen and knocking down a three-pointer from beyond the arc. The freshman delivered a game-high 31 points to lead Leipsic.
The Vikings pulled away down the stretch and held off the Pirates for a 49–36 victory.
